Vintage 18k yellow gold gents Rolex Bombay Oyster Perpetual wristwatch, ref #6590. Circa 1955. Silver Rolex dial, white edge minute track, applied bar hour markers. Fancy curved lugs. Swiss made, automatic self winding movement, Rolex caliber 1030. Inside of the case back is stamped MONTRES ROLEX SA, GENEVA SWITZERLAND PATENTED, 6590, 0,750 18K, 6593. The case back is double stamped 6590 and 6593. Comes on a generic lizard strap with a gold plated Rolex tang buckle. Approximate diameter is 33mm. The Rolex Bombay was originally known as the Rolex Bombé which described it’s accentuated fancy curved lugs.
It has a nick on the back of the case, located on the right side edge. The case back has some tool marks around some edges. Previously refreshed dial. The dial has minor spotting in some areas. The watch has superficial scratches due to normal wear and age. Overall condition is good. Running at the time of inspection, however not checked for accuracy nor water resistance/proofness. An overhaul is always recommended for used watches.
