Fine and rare NOS gents stainless steel Heuer Calculator chronograph wristwatch with date, ref #110.633 N. Circa 1980’s. Black Heuer dial with neon orange accents and two registers. Bright neon orange hour, minute, and chronograph hands. Engraved slide rule bezel. Fixed inner bezel, rotating outer bezel. “Calculates” distances and converts volumes and weights from metric to imperial system. Left side crown. Swiss made, automatic self winding movement. Comes on a stainless steel Heuer bracelet. Accompanied by a fitted wood Tag Heuer watch box and outer cardboard box. Approximate diameter is 46mm.
Appears to be in new old stock condition. Overall condition is mint. Running at the time of inspection, however not checked for accuracy. An overhaul is always recommended for used watches.
Rare and unusual Heuer watch model especially in new old stock condition. This model was offered with a black or navy blue dial. In addition, some models have the tritium lume directly applied to the dial such as this lot or with applied metal markers sandwiching the lume. There is also a Heuer Calculator model #740.633 however the words “Automatic Chronograph” are absent on the dial. The Heuer Calculator was in production from 1972 until 1982.

Throughout the years, Heuer secured several patients such as his first chronograph, the oscillating pinion, and the first dashboard chronograph. In 1933, they introduced the Autavia dashboard timer for cars and planes. In the mid-1940’s, Heuer came up with the Heuer triple calendar chronographs. In the 1950’s, they collaborated with Abercrombie & Fitch to produce the Abercrombie & Fitch Seafarer chronograph and the Abercrombie & Fitch Auto-Graph chronograph. In the 1960’s, Heuer became popular with motor racing events and teams such as Forumla One, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and Shelby Cobra.
