Rare and unusual vintage ladies stainless steel and gold capped Corum Medicus chronograph dress wristwatch with date, ref #97.365.21.  Also known as the Corum doctor’s watch.  Off white Corum Medicus dial with Latin pulsometre scale, rod of Asclepius, inner scale marked GRADATUS AD XV PULSUS, Latin for “graduated for 15 pulsations.”  Quick set date.  Swiss made, quartz movement.  Comes on a generic leather strap with a generic tang buckle.  Approximate diameter is 25mm.

Has superficial scratches due to normal wear and age.  The right side of the case has tarnish.  The chronograph hand does not reset at the 12 o’clock and stops intermittently.  Service is recommended.  The overall condition of the watch is good.  Running at the time of inspection, however not checked for accuracy nor water resistance/proofness.  An overhaul is always recommended for used watches.

Gaston Ries and Rene Bannwart founded Corum in 1955.  One of Corum’s best known models is the Corum watch made out of a $20 gold coin.  Some of Corum’s notable lines are the Corum Admiral’s Cup, Corum Bubble, Corum Golden Bridge, Corum Tourbillon, Corum Romulus, and Corum Buckingham.
