Abraham-Louis Breguet established the Breguet brand in 1775, marking the beginning of his legacy as a pioneer in watchmaking. He developed the world’s first dependable self-winding timepiece, known as the Breguet Perpétuelle, which caught the eye of notable figures, including Queen Marie Antoinette, who became one of his most dedicated patrons. Throughout its history, Breguet has introduced numerous innovations in horology. These include the gong spring for minute repeaters, the distinctive Breguet hands, the world’s earliest shock protection system called the Para-chute, the Breguet spiral, the revolutionary Breguet tourbillon, the first wristwatch ever created, the first perpetual calendar movement, a magnetic pivot patent, and the magnetic strike governor.
Among the brand’s most recognizable models are the Breguet Type XX, Type XXI, and Type XXII collections, as well as the Breguet Reine de Naples, La Marine, Classique complications, Classique, Tradition, and Heritage series. Breguet is also known for crafting exceptional high-jewelry timepieces.
